These raw ingredients for cement are nothing but natural source of calcium, magnesium, alumina, silicates and clay.
Raw ingredient for cement
There are two types of raw ingredients are required for manufacturing of cement.
- Calcareous Materials:
Calcareous materials are calcium and magnesium compounds.
Limestone is commonly used raw material in manufacturing of cement which consist both calcium and magnesium.
- Argillaceous Materials:
Argillaceous materials are silica, alumina and iron oxides compounds.
Clay and shale are commonly used raw materials in cement manufacturing which silicates and alumina.
